چکیده
The genus Ocimum has many species that are used to treat diverse kinds of illnesses and sicknesses from ancient times. One them, basilicum L., commonly known as basil, a vital role due its various medicinal goods. It is best plant with pharmacological activities, but also an antioxidant, antimicrobial, larvicidal agent. Although it been traditionally in Serbia traditional medicine for centuries insecticidal, antibacterial, antifungal well culinary plant, none the O. varieties have commercialised until today. There significant numbers information across world oils by-products part global market, no references essential oil composition Serbian plants were found. Therefore, objective this work was evaluate antioxidant antimicrobial potentials hydrolate two different varieties: var. genovese Ocimum. minimum originating further industrial production antimicrobial- and/or antioxidant-valued products. results study confirm represent source bioactive compounds, especially linalool, high rate biological activities. Similar behaviour observed hydrolates, which by-product distillation process can be utilised bioactive-rich waste investigation.
